Photo Tip of the Week: How to Watermark Your Phone Photos

Do you post your phone photos on social media or share them through messaging apps? If you do, your photos are out there forever and you have no control over who shares them nor how and where they get shared.

Some of your photos can even be “stolen” meaning that someone else can say that the photos were shot by them. Also, photos can easily be edited in photo editing apps without your knowledge.

A good way to protect your photos is to add a watermark. Most professional photographers use them when they share photos publicly online or when they show pre-purchase photos to clients.

A watermark can be your name, your logo, or anything else that identifies the photos and the photographer. Typically they are placed on the bottom corners but sometimes they are placed across the photo and made transparent.

Here’s how to add a watermark on phone photos.

Some Androids have a watermark feature built in, but iPhone has yet to add it to their operating system tools so a third-party app is necessary.

Most apps will let you design and customize your watermark and give you the option to place it where you want on your photos.

Here is a list of apps that let you add watermarks to your photos:

Watermark X

Photomarks

Watermarkly

iWatermark

eZy Watermark Photos Lite
